There have been quite a number of changes announced recently by Blizzard that will be coming with the 3.0 content patch before the Wrath of the Lich King expansion launches on the 14th of November. I've compiled a bit of a list that might interest the WoW gamer addicts around the place.
PVP / Honour
Originally Blizzard had announced that they were going to be doing a reset of all player's current PVP honour points and tokens, they have since rolled back this change due to widespread feedback and they now won't be making this change. They have commented though that level 80 honour items will cost considerably more honour so this should stop players hording honour points to be able to buy all of the items straight away.
Class changes
The 3.0 patch that will bridge the current incarnation of WoW to the expansion version will be introducing significant class and talent tree changes. My suggestion if you're curious about the changes that are upcoming for your class and want to have a poke around with the current build of the talent trees, community site MMO-Champion is probably worth a look at.
Expansion Launch Date
Well if this wasn't obvious in my first line, the launch date for Wrath is going to be the 14th of November for Australian players. The US gets it on the 13th, but given the timezone differences, this won't really give them much of a head start, so I wouldn't be too worried about being left behind in the race to level 80.
Nerfing of current raiding content
To help some players who might be close to the end of completing the current raiding content, the 3.0 patch will also be bringing with it significant nerfs to all Burning Crusade raid content. This includes the raiding zones Karazahn, Gruul's Lair, Magtheridon, Serpentshrine Cavern, Tempest Keep, Zul'aman, Mount Hyjal, Black Temple and Sunwell Plateau. The approximate amount of nerf according to MMO-Champion is approximately 30% health reduction in all bosses and mobs, and an unspecified damage output reduction in all bosses and mobs also. They have also made changes to the Illidan encounter to remove his shear ability that could only be countered by a well timed shield block.
Removal of Amani War Bear
For those who are yet to complete the 4 chest timed event in Zul'aman and get yourself a bear mount, you only have a short time left. As the introduction of the 3.0 patch will be removing this item from the instance so you won't be able to obtain it any longer.
So there you have it, some items that you may not have been aware of. Once the 3.0 patch hits, we'll have more news for you with the full list of changes and a download mirror for the patch, which with all of the changes is looking to be a rather big download.
