Flash Game Friday: Chatchat Cat Simulator

El_Funko - Friday, February 3, 2012

It’s Friday, so you’ve already looked at cat pictures, watched a few cat videos and probably sent cat pictures and videos to your workmates. Now you’re ready to complete the journey by pretending you’re a cat on the internet with a bunch of other bored people.

This is Chatchat, the cat simulator.

You’ll roam the areas around a house in beautiful 8bit graphics, chasing mice and hanging out with other cats on the server. There does seem to be a basic scoring system and some hidden rooms to find, but that’s not really what Chatchat is about. It’s just about being a cat, man.

Go with it.

Abobo’s Big Adventure

El_Funko - Friday, January 13, 2012

Today’s Flash Game Friday is Abobo’s Big Adventure – a throwback to old Nintendo beat ‘em up games, starring one of the most under-appreciated video game characters around.

Some know him as “That Bald Guy In Double Dragon”, some refer to him as “Tomato Man”, but most correctly refer to him by his name – Abobo.

Abobo’s Big Adventure has been lovingly recreated in flash and jammed with a cameo from every NES game character possible.  If you’re too young to have lived through the beat ‘em up phase, then you’ll probably find this game to be really boring. Personally I think it’s awesome, so I don’t care what anyone else thinks.

It does take a while to load, but it’s totally worth it.

FGF: Monsters In Bunnyland

El_Funko - Friday, December 9, 2011

Today’s Flash Game Friday features some monsters on a quest to collect stars in Bunnyland.

It’s a fun little puzzle platformer that seems like it would be right at home on a smartphone or an iPad, but instead you can enjoy it on your PC while you’re pretending to do work and counting the seconds until 5pm hits.

Read on to give the game a shot.

FGF: Prizma Puzzle Challenges

El_Funko - Friday, November 25, 2011

This week’s Flash Game Friday is Prizma Puzzle Challenges. It starts off ridiculously easy, but give it time. After teaching you the different game mechanics on offer, the difficulty ramps up sharpishly.

Use lasers to collect stars, break through crystals and teleport around the place to beat each level. What game involving stars, crystals and lasers isn’t awesome? None, it’s physically impossible.

Flash Game Friday: Blueprint 3D

El_Funko - Friday, November 18, 2011

I’m not sure why it took me so long to find a candidate for Flash Game Friday today. It could be because I’ve been playing nothing but Skyrim for a week straight and everything else pales in comparison. That’s probably it.

Eventually I stumbled across Blueprint 3D which is a cool little game where you rotate what appears to be an abstract collection of 3D shapes until they focus into a coherent 2D blueprint. It reminds me of a puzzle in Uncharted for some reason, except I’m not rewarded with Nathan Drake’s irreverent banter afterwards.

I recommend playing on Hard mode because Casual mode is like shooting fish in a barrel with a howitzer and an aim hack. Everyone hates people who use aim hacks, so don’t be that guy.

Flash Game Friday: Poleriders

El_Funko - Friday, November 11, 2011

It’s Friday so that means another round of flash game frivolity! This week features the new game from the maker of QWOP which is easily the greatest FGF entry to date. The new game is called Poleriders and features support for one or two players.

In single player training mode, all you have to do is use the arrow keys to vault over a series of increasing difficult objects before the clock runs out. It sounds simple, but the difficulty ramps up quickly (not to mention the difficulty of controlling your little dude, which is hard enough).

Two player mode is a whole different beast altogether. One player uses WASD and the other uses arrow keys to try and push the ball into the opposing player’s goal. You can vault into the ball, hit it with your stick – whatever it takes. You can even beat your opponent unconscious with your stick and he’ll have to respawn. I especially like that their unconscious body stays on the pitch as a reminder.

Like all FGF entries, it’s addictive as hell so make sure you’ve got a spreadsheet handy to switch to when your boss walks past.

Flash Game Friday – 4 Differences

stuck_fox - Friday, November 4, 2011

4 Differences is a ‘spot the differences’ game. Yeah, just like the ones on the newspaper and children’s activity books. No illusions here – this is not an exciting game, but it’s free and plays a soothing ambient soundtrack over the top of beautifully rendered, slightly animated photographs.

We could try to tell you more, but it’s more relaxing and fun if you get stuck in. Achievement junkies, play on Kongregate instead to add the completion badge to your collection.

Flash Game Friday: Pandemic 2

El_Funko - Friday, October 14, 2011

Flash Game Friday is back with a vengeance and ready to deliver a whole bunch of time-wasting goodness straight from the Internet to your face.

This week’s edition features Pandemic 2, a game where you control a deadly pathogen as it sweeps the globe and wipes out entire nations. You’ll need to decide how you want your infection to spread  (via air, water, rodents or insects) as well as how visible you want the symptoms to be such as coughing and sneezing over something more subtle like fevers and kidney failure.

As the governments realise everyone is dying from severe cases of deadly Dance Fever or Manfluenza (the best part of the game is you get to name your disease) they will begin to shut their borders and develop a vaccine to control the situation. Have you got what it takes to wipe out the globe?

Head over to the Pandemic 2 website to give it a crack.
