Yesterday at the Microsoft E3 Conference it was announced that Indie developed game Minecraft would be making its way onto the Xbox 360 with Kinect Support.
When asked whether Mojang would be developing the Console Version, Notch said that he would be remain attached to the project as a game designer, but the port will be handled by a separate, as of yet unannounced console developer.
Notch mentioned on Twitter last night that the “official word” for Minecrafts release date on the Xbox 360 was this winter.

Xbox 360 Firmware Update Issue
Scott Rose - Thursday, May 19, 2011

Microsoft have confirmed that a small percentage of Xbox 360 consoles when upgraded to the latest firmware have been unable to read retail game discs.
The consoles that have been affected the most are the Xbox 360 S (With 250GB Hard Drive) – Microsoft however are able to identify which consoles are affected over Xbox LIVE and have been proactively reaching out to customers who have been affected.
“Following a recent update to our system software, we have become aware of an issue that is preventing a very small number of Xbox 360 owners from playing retail game discs. This issue manifests itself as a unique ‘disc unreadable’ or ‘disc unsupported’ error on the screen and is unrelated to our recent public beta. We are also able to detect this issue over Xbox LIVE and are proactively reaching out to customers that may be impacted to replace their console. Any Xbox 360 owners receiving this error are encouraged to contact us at www.xbox.com/support/contact so we can verify if the console has been impacted.”
The firmware is meant to include a new Anti-Piracy technology as well as preparing the Xbox360 Console & DVD Drive for the upcoming XGD3 Disc Format – which will give game discs an extra GB of usable space.
Microsoft Set To Revive Dead Gamertags
Scott Rose - Thursday, March 3, 2011

Microsoft have announced they are currently in the process of reviving previously used and unavailable Gamertags for use on Xbox Live.
“begun the process of making previously used and unavailable (dead) Xbox Live Gamertags available” – Major Nelson
Previously any Gamertag that was lost due to changing a Gamertag, or closing an account went to the Xbox Live Graveyard. Major Nelson notes that the process of reviving these Xbox Live Gamertags will “take some time to complete” and users should “check back regularly” to see if their desired tag has been resurrected.
Xbox Live members are able to change their Gamertag in the profile section of the Xbox Dashboard at a cost of 800 MS Points.

Alan Wake gets a release date
Frozen Hell - Friday, February 12, 2010
.. so you’ve kept reading, well the official release date is the 18th of May for the US and the 21st of May for Europe. So which one of those dates we get it in Australia is anyone’s guess, but its safe to assume we’ll have it around the same time. If you’re wondering what this Alan Wake thing is all about, check out our feature on the game from early last year.
As we’ve previously reported, the game is an Xbox 360 exclusive at this stage, but there have been suggestions it may come to PC eventually. I have to admit I was disappointed by the announcement part way through last year that said the game was to be an Xbox 360 only title, but the game really does look good (and I’m not just talking about the graphics), so it may be enough to tempt me to dust off my Xbox 360 and actually plug it in again.
