3FL Server Booking System

Being a member of 3FL gives you access to the Server Booking System. This effectively allows members to reserve game servers for any game-title currently offered on 3FL, for a set period of time. Players are able to set a time, duration and game for ladder matches or even for just a bit of practice/training for the ultra-pros.

Booking a Server

Before you can start booking servers, you must first login to 3FL. Once logged in, the main page will reveal all the available games and their respective server names and game modes (e.g. Deathmatch/CTF etc). Most states have their own set of servers, by clicking the link for the state (for e.g. WA), this will open up the server ability page for the particular server, and will graphically represent the availability schedule (see below).

Below the availability schedule, will be a form that you are required to fill in to create a booking/reservation. The fields are fairly self explanitory.

Name Of Booking: This will effectively attach a name to your booking, it is recommended you include enough detail for other 3FL members/admins to understand. For example, if you have a ladder match between two teams, you would put something similar to "Ladder Match" then the names of the two teams, such as "ROK vs ABC" etc. Or perhaps if your team is just practicing, entitle the booking "ABC Clan practice" and so forth.

Date: The day you would like to book the game server for.

Start Time: This refers to the specific time that the booking shall commence. Times are in 24H format, and are local to the server you are booking in, for example with a NSW server - if a time of 15:30 is chosen this will be in 15:30 EST time (local time for the NSW server), or 13:30 in a WST equivalent.

Booking Length: The duration that you would like to book the server for, this is denoted in hours and there is maximum of 5 hours (ouch!).

Game Display Name: This is the Game-Title, for example: Counter Strike: Source or Call of Duty etc.

Game Type: This drop down menu lists the different game modes available, choose the one suitable to your booking.

Configuration Template: Different games have different configurations available, the drop down box will allow you to apply a specific configuration to your chosen server.

In-Game Admin Password: This will grant a player short-term admin access on the server, this will allow the player to initiate certain commands and effectively control the game server (map restart, pause etc).

In-Game Join Password: For player convenience and privacy, each booking is applied with a password, this means that in order to connect to the server, you must enter in the required password.

Contact Email: This is automatically filled in with the Email address of the player who has made the booking, you can modify this if required. Upon submitting all the information, a brief summary of the booking will be sent out to the entered address.

Confirmation Email

As mentioned, upon submitting the booking, once approved (this is automated, as it just quickly checks to see if there is anything already booked for those times), an Email is sent that features the details of the booking. Please keep a record of this Email, in case you forget the passwords for the server/booking.

Modifying/Cancelling Bookings

Upon clicking a previous booking, you will be able to view but also modify the booking, If you want to change the time or duration of the booking, simply edit then click on "Update". If you want to cancel the booking, simply click on "Remove". Upon updating or removing the booking, an Email will be sent out again advising of your actions (cancelled or updated).

Booking Restrictions

There are a few restrictions in place to encourage shared use of this service, these are:

  • You can only book any service once in a 24 hour period. Which means there must be a 24 hour period between each of a person's bookings.
  • Each game's maximum booking duration is different, this is largely dependent on the popularity of the game and the amount of servers assigned to that game-title.

Support

If you have any problems or further questions on how to use the system, please contact 3FL Support.
