Desert Combat
Desert Combat is one of the most popular mods of the original Battlefield 1942 title. Consistent with the Battlefield series, players go against each other in a loosely based war period in an array of vehicles ranging from Tanks to Fighter Jets.
Gameplay
As with all Battlefield titles, the main objective is to reduce the opposition's "tickets" to zero. This is primarily done by capturing flags (which also serves as a spawn point for players), the more flags that a team controls, the quicker the opposition's tickets shall disappear. If a team has accrued all of the flags possible whilst killing all opposing players - the amount of tickets on this team will automatically decrease instantly to zero, awarding the win to the opposing team.
Players can attack the opposition with their native weapon kit, which are depicted by the class of infantry they select. There are several different classes which can be changed any time through out a map - in addition to the original classes in Battlefield 1942 - there is now a Special Ops and Heavy Assault class. The changing of classes will only take place after a new spawn - which can be achieved by dying to the opposition or "suiciding".
As with Battlefield 1942, players are given an array of combat vehicles, however Desert Combat now has a modern day theme - players can operate Tanks, APCs, Boats, Jeeps, Hummers, Fighter Jets and even Helicopters.
